Wings from Above
Reading the book of
Revelation is a sweet and sour experience. From an earthly temporary
perspective, its horrendous judgments are sour. However, God invites us to look
from a heavenly perspective to experience sweet hope even in the worst of
circumstances. Instead of fearing, we greatly admire the millions worshiping at
His throne.
God in love gave the woman of
Revelation 12 two wings of a great eagle to fly beyond the reach of her enemies
to safety and nourishment. The strong wings carried her from the enemy's radar
to a place prepared by God for her encouragement. Friend, God gives those who wait upon Him
wings to rise above threatening circumstances (Isaiah 40:31; Psalm 55:5-7;
Exodus 19:4). Their testimony end like this – ‘I don’t know how I made it with
such a background, with so little and while I was so weak.’
Does God seem absent, asleep
or weak when evil persists? No, above the clouds of life, the light of God is
always shining. You can access grace to soar above the things that threaten
your dreams and legacy (John 10:10; 1 John 3:8). In a conflict between good and
evil, good prevails. In a conflict between lies and truth, truth prevails. In a conflict between oppression and freedom,
freedom prevails. In a conflict between hatred and love, love prevails. Thank
God, for freeing us to soar on wings of His favor through looking to Him in faith.
